A jack of many trades, John has:
- been a CPA (Taxation) for 33 years before retiring in 2004
- been in charge of his own accounting practice
- been in stock broking and financial planning for 17 years
- been qualified as a Real Estate Agents’ Representative
His all round business, accounting and financial experience make him an ideal liaison between you and your accountant. He speaks their language, but is no danger to them, and can do much of your work, (that part that most accountants don’t want to handle), more cheaply than they can.
He is more than your average bookkeeper, for most types of business.
John firmly believes that business owners should do what they do best – running their business and let a bookkeeping professional do what he does best – monitor and mind the money.
Because of his previous public accounting experience, he offers a number of specialisations including:
- Payroll preparation, particularly for those industries that have large numbers of casual or part-time employees.
- Payrolls for more than 100 workers at a site, to payrolls as small as mum & dad businesses.
- Barter Card Statement Accounting, with its many complexities and which confuses most average bookkeepers and even some accountants.
John will fit in with clients’ needs but prefers to work on site, helping clients maintain their accounting records on site and in good order.
Like all Jim’s Bookkeeping franchisees, John is required to maintain Professional Indemnity and Public Risk Liability Insurance and also carries his own Work cover.
As a Professional Partner of MYOB, John has access to the latest computer software and research, and can quickly access help on the rare occasions it is required at no cost to the client.
