A quick overview of my business and finance experience highlights my ability to work with businesses of any size:
- 8 years with Chartered Firm CE Smith & Co, Townsville working mainly in Audit with experience in Insolvency;
- Internal Audit at the Queensland Development Corporation;
- Corporate Service Agency providing Corporate Management Accounting and implementing Accrual Accounting at the Department of Primary Industry;
- Management Accountant at Q-Link;
- Management and Financial Accountant at Sun Metals Corporation, also involved in the selection and implementation of the JDE Management Information System;
- Financial Controller of the Townsville and Cairns Radio Centres;
- Financial Controller and ultimately General Manager Finance of JJ McDonalds and Sons Engineering.
It can be seen that I have vast experience in business of all sizes and from a vast array of industries, no client is too small or too daunting. I have the ability to adapt to you.
Most importantly, being an ex accountant myself, I understand that everybody’s accountants have different needs and wants. They also like things done in certain ways. I can talk accountant speak with them, work with them, create the systems that will ultimately lower your overall costs.

- Pay your staff and keep your superannuation up to date;
- Liaise with your customers and suppliers;
- Reconcile your bank accounts;
- Assistance with hack work that allows you to keep your BAS up to date;
- Prepare budgets and forecasts;
- Help you understand how your business is going, where it is headed and what we need to do to achieve your goals. Most importantly you have this information now, not 6 months after the end of year after your accountant has prepared the tax returns;
- You want to upgrade your accounting system, I can provide you with advice and able to source the solution that is best for you;
- Or maybe you require your staff to be trained in your software;
- Or you just need somebody to file your invoices;
No job is too small, whatever it is you require I can tailor the solution to meet your needs.
I can work at your office or at mine. If its backlog work (e.g. process all the data for the last 12 months) or ongoing work, or a combination of both. Do you require your data to be processed weekly, monthly, quarterly? I currently have clients from Townsville to Cairns.
My qualifications are as follows:
- Bachelor of Commerce, James Cook University, including 2 years of Computer Science;
- Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment, Securities Institute of Australia, Major in Corporate Finance;
- Ex member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia, have completed the Professional Year Programme and achieved a Merit Listing for the Audit Module;
- Member - Institute of Certified Bookkeepers;
- Professional Partner – MYOB.
