My first job was in the banking industry as an accounting machinist because I had studied bookkeeping and had a passion for working with figures. I spent the next 10 years in varying industries whilst having my family.
I then went into Customer Service and Sales for 10 years to add more strings to my bow.
I learnt that not only do you have to keep the books accurately in small business, you also need to develop a good working relationship with your customers, provide a good product and deliver great customer service.
Four years ago, I went to a Jim’s Expo and decided that I wanted to go to the next step, to be my own boss and put all that I had learned over the years to good use.
I believe that small business owners need the time and space to do what they do best, that is, to develop their business to whatever the level they require. Being buried in paperwork, in most cases, is the bain of their lives and that’s where I come in.
I can either pick up the work and do it in my home office or work on site with them, making suggestions on how they can streamline their office systems and showing them exactly how the business is going, so that they have a clear forward direction. All reports are filed and returned in a personalized folder.
I liaise with the accountant to ensure the accounts are tax ready, so that the client can save time and money.
I am a MYOB Professional Partner so I use the latest software and hardware. I also keep backup copies stored off-site for client security and peace of mind should anything occur.
