Bookkeeping franchises charge entry fees based on the value of the brand (how well recognised it is) and the value of the information that will be imparted (how much help you will receive). These fees are not generally linked to a success factor because the core element in any business success is the commitment of the business operator. This means Jim’s Bookkeeping needs to select franchise candidates rather than take just anyone who comes along. We need to be assured that every Jim’s Bookkeeper can maintain the business performance standards we require as a professional network. So, before you sign anything or pay us a single cent we both need to be confident that this is the right step for you.

A working knowledge of MYOB or similar products is required. If your MYOB experience is a bit rusty, you may be required to undertake a short MYOB refresher course at your own cost.
We test this and your general skills by asking you to complete the bookkeeping of a “Shoebox” example of a small business in an MYOB product.
If you do not hold a CURRENT Certificate IV in Bookkeeping or higher qualification such as a diploma, degree or masters in accounting you will be required to obtain a Certificate IV in Bookkeeping.
Jim’s Orientation Franchisee Training and Jim’s Bookkeeping Orientation Training are compulsory for all franchise candidates and comprises 6 consecutive days (Monday – Saturday). The training takes place at Foothills Conference Centre in Melbourne.
The first 3 days are spent on site with all Jim’s Group franchise candidates in the group conference centre. Each month up to 100 candidates take part and experience the camaraderie that being a part of the Jim’s Group creates.
The next part of training involves 3 days in the Bookkeeping Division where we help you to develop an operational and marketing plan that includes the key elements to growing and managing a professional services business. We start with the basics and then lead you through the process of growing your business utilising the Jim’s Brand.
These 3 days are only the beginning of our business development training which is extended through an ongoing process that becomes integral to your business operation. This part of our training program lasts the life of your business as we strive to provide you with premium professional support that will help your business grow and flourish.
Everything you learn will be presented by experts who have succeeded and understand what it takes to make a business successful.
Before undertaking any training with Jim’s you will be required to complete a Franchise Application and pay a deposit of $5,000. This application is not a franchise agreement and will not oblige you or the Franchisor to enter into a franchise agreement. You will receive a complete set of franchise documentation prior to attending training. You will have 14 days to review the documentation, seek further advice and prepare yourself for the commencement of your business. Whilst training is included in the franchise entry fee, you will be required to pay for any transport, accommodation and airport transfers you require.
When you have successfully completed training you will be formally invited to join the Jim’s Bookkeeping network. At this time you will be provided with a complete set of franchise documentation ready for signing.
