Jim’s Bookkeeping North Queensland has provided payroll, bookkeeping and other services to Volunteering North Queensland for several years, and is happy to have this contribution formally acknowledged following National Volunteer Week in May 2015. The Social and Community Industry Award is the most complex and is subject to twice annual changes as part of a gradual increase process, so providing payroll services for VNQ is quite demanding.
Volunteering North Queensland Inc. (VNQ) is a not-for-profit volunteer referral and community resource centre. It works to promote and support voluntary participation within community organisations to both benefit the individual volunteer and to enrich the North Queensland community. VNQ provideseducation, training, information, support and mediation pertaining to volunteer related issues for individuals and community organisations.
Research tells us that volunteering makes a difference in people’s happiness. It’s proven that volunteers are happier, healthier and even sleep better than those who don’t volunteer. Thus the theme for this year’s National Volunteer Week “Give Happy, Live Happy”.
Jean Stone has a Graduate Certificate in Business (Philanthropic and NonProfit Studies) from QUT and an association with VNQ going back a decade or more. As Franchisor of Jim’s Bookkeeping North Queensland, Jean is very proud to be associated with them and that our contribution assists in improving the communities in which we live.
